Private discussion and non-attribution
The roundtables are private and invitation-only. General themes may be shared, but no comment, position, example or experience may be attributed to a participant or organisation without prior permission.
The events are not conducted under the Chatham House Rule unless Just Verify expressly states otherwise in writing for a particular event.
01Contribute constructively
- Address the question being discussed and explain the basis for your view.
- Distinguish between evidence, experience, interpretation and opinion.
- Challenge ideas, assumptions and evidence without attacking individuals.
- Be concise and leave space for other participants to contribute.
- Listen actively and avoid persistent interruption, side conversations or domination of the discussion.
- Engage respectfully with participants from different sectors, disciplines, institutions and professional backgrounds.
02Protect the room
- Respect the confidentiality and non-attribution requirements throughout the event.
- Do not record, transcribe, photograph, take screenshots or use AI note-taking tools without prior approval.
- Do not share confidential, privileged, security-sensitive or proprietary information that you are not authorised to disclose.
- Do not share participant contact details or use information obtained through the event for unsolicited marketing.
- Follow reasonable directions from the moderator, Just Verify event team and venue personnel.
- Respect event security, access, safety and venue requirements.
03Intellectual honesty and disclosure
Participants should contribute honestly and transparently.
- Identify material commercial, professional, institutional or personal interests where they are relevant to the point being made.
- Do not knowingly present false or materially misleading information.
- Make clear where you are speaking in a personal capacity rather than on behalf of your organisation, where this distinction matters.
- Avoid presenting speculation or personal opinion as established evidence.
- Correct or clarify a material statement where you later become aware that it may have been inaccurate or misleading.
04No product promotion or sales pitches
The roundtable is not a product demonstration, investor pitch, recruitment exercise, sales presentation or promotional forum.
- Relevant organisational or product examples may be discussed only where they genuinely advance the question.
- Contributions must not become promotional presentations.
- Participants must not dominate the discussion in order to promote a company, service, product or personal agenda.
- Business cards and contact details may be exchanged voluntarily.
- Persistent or aggressive solicitation is not permitted.
- Participation does not provide access to participant contact details or permission to add attendees to mailing lists.
05Moderator authority
The moderator is responsible for protecting the quality, balance, timing, confidentiality and integrity of the discussion.
- The moderator may manage the speaking order.
- The moderator may redirect the discussion or request clarification.
- The moderator may close a line of discussion that is repetitive, promotional, inappropriate or outside scope.
- The moderator may pause the session.
- The moderator may ask a participant to stop speaking.
- The moderator may take proportionate action to protect safety, confidentiality, time and participant balance.
- Participants must comply promptly and respectfully with moderator and event-team directions.
06Working principle
The quality of the roundtable depends on the quality of participation: informed contribution, disciplined listening, constructive disagreement and respect for the boundaries of the event.
